Pairc Gaelacht Corr Dubh

I We now have two full size Prunty Pitches that should ensure the future of Gaelic football in Corduff for generations to come. Lighting around the training pitch is in place and the foundation of the running track has been laid.

The extended terracing means we can now cater for up to 4,000 spectators and we look forward to hosting some major fixtures in the not too distant future.

CLUB NOTES 5th August 2005


Benefit Night at Mullingar Greyhound Track: Please note that because of the Monaghan v Tyrone match at Croke Park on Saturday evening, the Development Committee has decided to defer the Night at The Races until the following Thursday Aug 11th to facilitate those wishing to travel to both events. A free bus will run from the Community Centre leaving at 5.14pm and Cunninghams at 6.00 pm sharp.  Your 20 euro sponsorship entitles you to a free seat, admission to the stadium and racing card. Please support. To confirm seats contact Margaret at 0872945670 or Maura at 0879102143.Good luck to Banty and the team on Saturday.

Fixtures: The seniors are due to play Monaghan Harps in the league this weekend. Check Official Fixtures List.

U-13's: Hard luck to the U-13 team who put in a gallant performance in the final of the U-13 blitz but were narrowly beaten by Aughnamullen.

Wedding Bells: Congratulations and best wishes for the future to the chairman's daughter Fiona Cunningham and Darren Culleton who were married last weekend.

 


CLUB NOTES  12th August 2005

Benefit Night: The bus to Mullingar leaves from the Community Centre this evening Thursday at 5.45 and Cunningham's Mart Bar at 6.00 pm. Anyone who has sponsored a dog is welcome to travel free on the bus and also gain free admission to the track.

Fixtures: The senior team put in a terrific second half performance against Monaghan Harps last Sunday to leave only a two point margin at the end.  Check Official Fixtures List for next game.

U-16's: The U-16 team play Killanny in the league final tomorrow evening Friday in Blackhill at 7.00pm.

U-13's: The U-13 blitz takes place this Saturday. Check with management for venue and the U-15 blitz takes place over two days on the following Saturday and Sunday 21st and 22nd.

Condolence: The club would like to extend sincere sympathy to the Keenan family Sreenty on the death of Patsy who passed away last Tuesday. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.


CLUB NOTES  19th August 2005

U-16 League Div 3 Final: Pride of place this week goes to the U-16 team who defeated a fancied Killanny side to win the Curley Bros. Cup last Friday evening. Played at a terrific pace throughout, this was an outstanding team performance combined with some superb individual displays. Such was the standard of play that no one dared name a man of the match with so many in contention for the title. Well done to all concerned and the management team of John Mc Menamin and Mark Gilsenan. U-16 team: John Mc Enaney, Kevin Mc Cabe, Darragh Connolly, Andrew Jones, Niall Reilly, Cathal Connolly, Gerard Connolly, Shane Mc Nally (Captain), Daniel Connolly, Michael Hanratty, Enda Mc Cabe, Anthony Quigley, Aodhan Campbell, Aidan Ward, Charles Cooney, Brendan Mc Nally, Ben Woods..

Championship: All roads lead to Castleblayney on Sunday for our championship clash with Blackhill. Good luck to the team and management. Throw-in 2.00 pm.

Benefit Night: The development committee would like to thank everyone involved in the Benefit Night at Mullingar Greyhound Track last Thursday evening. Thanks to the race sponsors, those who sponsored dogs and those who traveled to the event on the night. This was the final fundraising event for the year and sellers are asked to return their cards as soon as possible.

Alotto: There was no winner of this week's jackpot of 3,100. Numbers drawn were 1,6,9 and 11. U-13 Blitz: Well done to the U-13 side who had a very successful outing in Magheracloone on Saturday. They go on to the next round in Drumhowan on Saturday 27th.

U-15 Blitz: The U-15 blitz goes ahead next Saturday in Castleblayney at 1.00 pm with semi-finals on Sunday at 11.00 pm. Training this evening (Thursday) at 7.30 pm.

U-10's: The U-10 team travel to Donaghmoyne this evening Thursday. Meeting at Reilly's Cross at 6.30 pm.

Jerseys: A number of jerseys are still missing from the Fiddlers Restaurant and MTM sets. Please check carefully as teams must be lined out according to programme for championship fixtures or he club will be fined.


CLUB NOTES  26th August 2005

Championship: Well done to the team and management on last Sunday's victory over Blackhill which booked a place in the semi-final against Aughnamullen on Sunday Sept.4th.

Junior B's: We were beaten by Clones on Monday night in the opening round of the championship.

Fixtures: The seniors are due to play Killeevan in the league on Sunday morning. Check Official Fixtures and with management for venue.

U-10's: The U-10 team had a busy week with games against Donaghmoyne and Kingscourt.

U-15's: Congratulations to the U-15 team who acquitted themselves very well at the county blitz last weekend.

Alotto: There was no winner of this week's jackpot of 3,200. Numbers drawn were 9, 10, 13  and 21.
