Pairc Gaelacht Corr Dubh

I We now have two full size Prunty Pitches that should ensure the future of Gaelic football in Corduff for generations to come. Lighting around the training pitch is in place and the foundation of the running track has been laid.

The extended terracing means we can now cater for up to 4,000 spectators and we look forward to hosting some major fixtures in the not too distant future.

Upcoming Fixtures: Intermediate Football League: On Sunday we are away to Carrickmacross in the IFL for a 12.30 throw-in. Wednesday 7th June away to Harps for an 8.00 pm start.  Wednesday 14th  away to Cremartin.

Junior B's: Corduff v Castleblayney  on Saturday 10th at 7.00 pm.

Alotto: There was no winner of this week's jackpot of 2,400. Numbers drawn were 2, 24, 27 and 28. Ten twenty euro winners as follows - Pat sheridan Tullyglass, Patsy Duffy Shercock, Noeleen Brennan Corduff, Ryan Duffy Inniskeen, Pat Conroy Kingspan, Larry jones Corduff, Alan Mc Keown Kingspan, Dessie Donnelly Bose, Red Quigley Bose, David Stafford Kingspan. Juveniles: The U-12 team defeated Doohamlet on Monday evening.

Training: A special training session with Paul Connor will be held at the new Training Pitch on Monday evening commencing with U-10's at 5.45 pm and working through the various grades until 9.00 pm. Details from team mentors.

Results: We had mixed fortunes this week on the results front. The Junior B's had a good win in Truagh on Wednesday evening and the seniors came away from Eire Og with two valuable points on Friday evening. However we lost to Carrick on Sunday morning.

Fixtures: Another busy week ahead with an away fixture to Harps on Wednesday evening and the Junior B's meet Blayney on Saturday evening at 7.00 pm. Check with management for venue. On Wednesday 14th we travel to Cremartin in the Intermediate league. Throw-in 8.00 pm.

Juveniles: Fixtures - The U-12 team meet Eire Og in Corduff at 4.00 pm on Saturday.U-14's are away to Inniskeen for a 7.30pn start and the U-10's ply Inniskeen at 6.45 pm.

Blitz: Well done to the U-10 team who took part in the blitz in Aughnamullen on Sunday. They had a tough schedule in hot conditions but reached the final where they were narrowly beaten.

Alotto There was no winner of this weeks alotto. Fixtures: I.F.L We played Cremartin on Wednesday evening and meet Aghabog next Wednesday evening in Corduff at 8.00 pm.

Championship: We are drawn against Cremartin in the next round of the Championship.

Juveniles: U-14's play Scotstown on Saturday at Reilly's Cross. Throw-in 4.00pm.

U-12's: The U-12 team beat Eire Og last Saturday. it was a very entertaining game and a great team performance. Well done to the boys who sacrificed part of their school trip away for the sake of the team.

Alotto: There was no winner of this week's jackpot of 2,600. Numbers drawn were 4, 6, 9 and 28. U-12's: Away to Killeevan on Saturday 24th. Bus leaving the centre at 3.00pm sharp.

U-16's: Return to football following the exams on Friday 30th at 7.15pm when they meet Ballybay in Corduff.

Reserves: The Junior B's beat Scotstown on Sunday evening which leaves them finishing the league having dropped only two points.

IFL:  Another chapter in the history of Corduff Gaels CLG was opened on Monday evening, June 19th. 2006 with the first league match to be played on the new pitch, an IFL tie with Doohamlet. A large crowd expressed amazement at the transformation that has taken place in two years. And the game lived up to the occasion, all agreeing it was a great game  of football. The first half was an evenly matched affair with some excellent displays from both teams and only two points separating the sides at half time. Corduff dominated in the third quarter and stretched ahead before Doohamlet found form again in the final ten minutes. Final score, Corduff 0-16, Doohamlet 0-8.

Results: IFL: We gained two more points with a win against Aghabog last Wednesday evening. This Sunday we meet Emyvale in Corduff at 7.30 pm.

U-21's: The U-21 league got under way on Monday evening and Corduff won their opening match against Toome. Next Monday evening they meet Rockcorry in Corduff at 8.00 pm.

U-16's: The U-16 team meet Ballybay in Corduff on Friday evening at 7.15 pm.
