Condolence: We extend sincere sympathy to the King family, Owery on the death of John King on Saturday September 2nd. The late John not only played for the club but was also the father of three players on the senior team, Gareth who is team captain, Louis and Sean. To John's wife Ann and daughters Caroline and Fiona we also express heartfelt sympathy. 15th September 2006 As a mark of respect to the King family all club activities were suspended for weekend and a minute's silence was observed at the championship match last Sunday. Championship: Despite a lack-lustre start and only registering four points in the first half, the team came out with all guns blazing for the second half and within ten minutes had established a lead they were never to lose.The championship semi-final against Monaghan Harps takes place on Saturday next Sept 16th. in Clontibret at 6.00 pm. Good luck to the team and management. Development: Due to increased interest the closing date for sponsorship of the new scoreboard has been extended. A much less than par performance meant that despite a one point lead in the twenty second minute meant we were unable to capitalise on that lead and lost out to a stronger team. See report elsewhere.
