Corduff v Cremartin; Our senor team were hosts to Cremartin last Saturday evening like all our games this season it turned out to be a close encounter. Corduff were first to score through Martin Mills it was point for point until in the second quarter Cremartin hit the back of the Corduff net. But Corduff responded straight away with George Mc Kitterick registering a point. But for some great defending by Louis King in the first half and the work of Declan Larkin in mid field the margin could of been more at half time .Half time score Corduff 0-05 Cremartin 1-05.Cremartin started first in the second half before Corduff scored 3 unanswered points to have the score back to a point. Cremartin extended there lead to 2 points but then through some hard work from Gareth King in Backs and Ray Byrne on the 40 corduff Corduff came back to draw level with an excellent score from George Mc Kitterick. Declan Larkin scored the winner after he won the ball at mid field. Reserve League; Our reserve team were away to Cremartin last Wednesday evening. After going behind to a goal within 2 minutes Corduff was then given a further blow with the loss of Noel Crosson. But the Corduff team rallied with some extra play from Colm Marron and Brendan Kerley and through some excellent points from Padraic Gollogly in the first half. We went in leading by the slimmest of margins at half time. Corduff game out of the blocks first in the second half registering 1-01 within 2 minutes the Goal coming from Lee Mc Gardle. With some excellent defending from Frank Mc Enaney and Paddy Mc Mahon Cremartin only registered 3 points in the second half.Corduff were to hit the back of the net for the second time when Stephen Cunningham and Lee Mc Gardle combined to rattle the Cremartin net. Under 16 League: After a very close encounter against Emyvale last Friday evening where our boys battled to the very end. The home team eventually came out victorious, but the display from the boys was something to be proud of. This week we have a bye. Next game is against Magheracloone at home on Friday 11th May.
Under 14 League: This Saturday we are at home to Blackhill throw in 4pm. All support welcome.
Under 12 League: We had a great win over Drumhowan last Saturday. It was a strong spirited display by all players. Next outing is against Aghabog on Saturday 12th May.
Minor League: There was a much improved performance by the Farney gaels outfit Tuesday night 24th when they were up against a strong Scotstown side. They played St. Enda's last Tuesday night 1st May see result else where.
Juvenile kit: There has been a hugh response to the Corduff Gaels Juvenile pack that has been developed for 10 to 18 years. This includes a Corduff Gaels kit bag, Corduff socks and shorts. Jerseys: Another call to all players to have a look in the usual spots under the beds, boots of cars and kit bags for all jerseys. With the championship approaching quickly a full set of jerseys is needed and this is not possible at the moment.
Speedy Recovery: Best wishes to Noel Crosson and Aidan Marron who picked up serious injuries during the two games against Cremartin last week. Hope to see you out of the casts soon and back in the amber and black.

Club Notes: Anyone wishing to have club notes included please contact me Ladies Notes Senior Ladies; The Senior Ladies latest game was held on Friday the 27th away to Emyvale. Corduff achieved a win with the final score being 2-14 to 1-9. This was the first game in which the girls wore the new jerseys, 11th May Championship Countdown: This Saturday evening the men in black and amber take on Monaghan Harps in The Championship. Over the last number of years this has been an entertaining and very close fixture, this game is being built up to be the same. All support needed for the team as the supporters will be the 16th man. A night not to be missed So close yet so far: That was the way things felt last Saturday evening when our senior team depleted by injuries traveled to Emyvale. Emyvale always had there noses in front despite the best efforts of the full back line of Paddy Mc Mahon, Gerry Mee and Ciaran Brennan. We had a great goal chance when Martin Mills played a perfect ball in but the goal keeper smothered it. Corduff had plenty of chances but could not raise the white flag. With some excellent scores from Louis King, George Mc Kitterick, Martin Mills and Pauric Gollogly we battled our way back to within 2 points at half time. Half Time score Corduff 0-6 Emyvale 1-05. In the 3rd quarter Corduff controlled the game with Declan Larkin and Fran Monaghan controlling mid-field with excellent support from Gareth King, Shane Mc Nally and man of the match Louis King. With 7 Minutes left George Mc Kitterick and Ray Byrne combined to rattle the back of the Emyvale net but this was not enough. Final Score Corduff 1-6 Emyvale 1-7. Corduff were kept quiet in the first half with only a single score on the board at half time that coming from a free by Padraig Gollogly that Peter Mc Gardle had won. Corduff were like a different team in the second half playing with the wind with some fine points from Stephen Cunningham, Padraic Gollogly, Niall Reilly and Frank Mc Enaney Corduff were back to within 3 points. The scores were the result from the hard work shown by the Corduff players with some vital balls being won by Seamus Mc Connon, Shane Mc Nally and Frank Mc Enaney.The History was made when John Mc Enaney was introduced with 15 minutes remaining he joined his father in the full forward line. In extra time our Chairman and County Manager hit the back of the Rockcorry net to level the score. June begins with a senior game against Aghabog away on Sunday 3rd June. Championship; Last Saturday evening we travelled to Clontibret to take on Monaghan Harps in the Championship. Corduff were first of the blocks when a high ball into the full forward line and Raymond Byrne fisted the ball down the finish was supplied by Mark Gilseain who rattled the back of the Monaghan Harps net. Raymond Byrne then extened the lead with a fine taken point with the left boot. It was Monaghan Harps turn to hit the back of the net in the tenth minute. Colm Marron leveled the score in the 19th minute before Mark Gilseain put Corduff ahead. Monaghan Harps were again close to hitting the back of the net only for some maginificant defending from man of the match Paddy Mc Mahon and Ciaran Brennan. Half Time Score Corduff 1-03 Monaghan Harps 1-04. Despite alot of hard work from Declan Larkin and Raymond Byrne Monaghan Harps went on to score 5 unanswered points. Due to some excellent defending Maghercloone were held and only scored another point in the first half. Half Time Score: Corduff 0-04 Maghercloone 0-02.The second half started like the first ended it was quick and exciting Maghercloone was first out of the blocks and had the Corduff lead back to within a point but with some excellent build up play Padraic Keenan supplied the finish. Under 10: Last Thursday our under 10 team took on a very strong Maghercloone team in Corduff.After a slow start from Corduff when Maghercloon had registered 1-02 without reply, the fight back was on when Eva Woods registered the first point for Corduff this was quickley followed by a brillant goals from Eamoon Marron and Killian Hand and this set Corduff on their way. With other fine scores and work from Fergal Hanarthy,Gavin Mc Enaney and Shane Hand our under 10 team proved that they are a team to watch in the future.

Congratulations: To Ben Woods and Charles Cooney who were part of the Carrick Rovers Under 14 Division 1 team who won the League Final and Sheild recently. Also to Jason and Niall Hand who both won Cups in the Redemina Bowls Competition Recently.

Gala Ball; Last Friday night the much anticipated Gala ball took place. As usual Adrian Logan MC on the night provided great entertainment for those in attendance. Reserve League: Last Wednesday night our reserve team took on Trugh in terrible conditions in Corduff.Despite the rain it didn't put a damper on the game Corduff started strong but found themselves a goal behind in the opening minutes, like usual the team came back and with some fine scores from Colm Marron, Padraig Gollogly and Shane Mc Nally Jnr we were back ahead at half time after Colm Marron hit the back of the Truagh net. Half Time score Truagh 1-03 Corduff 1-06.Corduff were ahead throughout the second half this was due to some excellent work in defence and mid field.Corduff scored some more excellent points the suppliers being Padraig Gollogly, Colm Marron, Stephen Cunningham, Shane Mc Nally and man of the match Paddy Mc Mahon. Padraig Gollogy again supplied a goal for Corduff in the second half. Final Score Truagh 1-07 Corduff 2-14 Under 16 League: Last Friday night the under 16 team made the long trip to St. Enda's a combination of Currin and Eire Og.Every one knew this was going to be a hard place to go and collect 2 points. The team put in a very determined,spirated performance and their was nothing to seperate the teams in the end. No game this week due to the exam break. Well Done: To the High School Under 15 team who played in the Ulster Final Yesterday,Corduff was well respresented on the team with Padraig (Padna) Mc Nally, Charles Cooney, Ben Woods and it was capained by the one and only Brendan (Cokey) Mc Nally.Also the manger was our very own Paddy Martin, who is part of the Senior team management in Corduff.
