We now have two full size Prunty Pitches that should ensure the future of Gaelic football in Corduff for generations to come. Lighting around the training pitch is in place and the foundation of the running track has been laid.

The extended terracing means we can now cater for up to 4,000 spectators and we look forward to hosting some major fixtures in the not too distant future.

31st July 2008

Under 16 review; Last Fridays night we were defeated by a strong  St. Patrick Emmets team which is made up of two Clubs Aghabog and Currin the semi final ended this team’s involvement this year. This team has a great year coming from a small area getting to the Semi final in the league and Championship of Division 2. We started our campaign on the 4th of April against Patrick Emmets away a combination of Aghabog and Currin. Corduff put up a good fight against these two teams but the home sides proved too strong for our challenge. It was a local derby the following Friday when we played Carrick away. This was a game of goals the best coming from Jason Hand and the teams were all square with just a minute to go Carrick scored a goal that meant that Carrick were 3p up we pushed hard for a goal in the dying secnds but it failed to come. We then played Emyvale at home. The team put in great team performance full of determination and passion best on the night were Brendan Mc Nally, Ben Woods, Jason Hand, Mark Mc Enaney and Charles Cooney. Next up was the championship against Clones again this was a great team performance and we came out victorious. We played Cremartin away on the 2nd May and the home team came out victorious. It was then Sean Mc Dermotts at home. It was a brilliant team performance with excellent displays from Jason Hand in defence Mark Mc Enaney and Charles Cooney controlled mid field throughout the game, and hard work from the forwards Fergal Marron, Cathal Mc Enaney and Brendan Mc Nally. Next up was Latton away. This was a close game throughout but Corduff battled until the end and came out winners on a score line of Corduff 1-10 Latton 1-07. After the exam break we were back in action against Patrick Emmets in the semi final of the Championship in Ballybay.  With a very small panel of players this team put up an excellent fight but lost by 2 points. In the last game of the league we were awarded the points. This  placed us in a semi final position. Last Friday night we played Patrick Emmets in the semi final. Corduff were depleted with injuries to key players this team battled hard against these 2 teams, and made the Club, management, their loyal supporters and parents very proud of their displays all year.

Congratulations to Banty and the Monaghan Team on the brilliant team performance against a strong and determined Donegal team. We are all very proud to be from Monaghan
