Pairc Gaelacht Corr Dubh

We now have two full size Prunty Pitches that should ensure the future of Gaelic football in Corduff for generations to come. Lighting around the training pitch is in place and the foundation of the running track has been laid.

The extended terracing means we can now cater for up to 4,000 spectators and we look forward to hosting some major fixtures in the not too distant future.

U 12 - Hard luck last Saturday. Training continues on Thursday at 7pm, it is very important that everyone attends.

Seniors - Congratulations to the girls who beat off competition from Scotstown in the semi-final of the league last Sunday. It would have been very easy to put the heads down at half time when we were at a 2point deficit. However the girls settled into it a bit better and the final score board showed a 1-9 to 1-7 win for the Gaels. Thanks to our supporters and those who provided tea and sandwiches for the teams and officials afterwards.

Speedy recovery - we hope to have Louise Byrne back on top form very soon. She was injured in the semi-final on Sunday last in a great effort to block a goal in the final minutes.

Well done - to all of the girls who recieved Junior Certificate results recently.

Under 12 Review: Our 12 team was beaten last Thursday in the final against Doohamlet. The young Corduff team put up a brave fight. We started off the Campaign against Doohamlet we were beaten on a score line of Corduff 0-10 Doohamlet 4-10. We recovered well to beat a strong Monaghan Harps side in the second round. We then played Fergal O Hanlons at home. After a very entertaining game we came out victorious on a score line of Corduff 1-10 Fergal O Hanlon’s 0-2. We went on to play Scotstown B and Clones these games were close and intense throughout but we came out winners. Thanks to great team performances full of determination   and skill we came out winners over Carrickmacross B and Rockcorry. A depleted side made the short journey to Aughnamullen for the final game of the season. Winners would have home advantage for our already determined semi final game. The home side came out winners therefore guaranteeing home advantage for the team’s semi final. Corduff were at near full strength for the semi final and with a great team display we came out victorious and set up a place in the final against Doohamlet. After a long wait the final took place in Aughnamullen last Thursday evening. After a great game every Corduff player tried their best Doohamlet came out winners .
