Friday 27th February 2009 Reserve Football League: Our team played last Sunday against a strong Ballybay team. Goals proved important. Lee Mc Ardle opened the scoring for Corduff after 3 minutes with a free, the teams were levelled on 5 minutes. The teams were level at half time with the scoreline of 3 points each Corduff’s further point came from frees converted by Lee Mc Ardle. He went on to add another point in the 7th minute. This was before Ballybay scored their first out of 3 goals. Niall Reilly added another point for Corduff in the 20th minute. Final Score Ballybay 3-05 Corduff 0-05 Team: Peter Mc Garell, Alan Mee, Pauric Connolly, Michael Fox, Shane Mc Nally Jnr, Seamus Mc Connon, Ciaran Malone, Lee Mc Ardle, Cathal Connolly, Aidan Marron, Daniel Connolly, Niall Reilly, Charles Cooney, Keith Mc Enaney, Noel Crosson Subs Used: Michael Hanratty, Brendan Mc Nally and Stephen Cunningham Upcoming Fixtures: Our reserve team play Aghabog this Sunday in Corduff. Check official fixture for time. Under 12 Training: Starts this Saturday all players please in Corduff for 10am. Our first game is on the 14th of March so everyone needed at training Under 16: Training continues on Saturday at 6pm. All eligible players please attend. Fundraising: Former Player and club man Patsy the Gale Mc Nally along with Pauric Ruth is taking part in a 50 mile cycle on Easter Monday. They will travel to 5 counties with the route taking in Carrick, Culloville, Inniskeen, Louth Village, and Kingscourt. This is in aid of worthy causes including Steadfast House which cares for people with special needs. All support is greatly received; any queries please contact Patsy or Pauric. Table Quiz: Takes place on Friday 6th March in Callans on the Bridge in aid of Our Lady’s Hospital Crumlin. Table of 4 €20 euro, starts at 10pm. Juvenile Competitions: Our under 12 start their campaign on the 14th of March, The following weekend our under 14 team play their first game. Our Under 16 team starts on 3rd April. Teams and venues to be announced. Good Luck: To all the students who are doing their mocks at the moment. Jerseys: As the season start off again a call to all players please return all jerseys as full set are needed in all competitions or the club may be fined. Good Luck: To Seamus and the Monaghan team this weekend against Armagh. Clean Up: Thanks to the few loyal people who helped with the clean up last Saturday. It is particularly important for all players to register early as they will not be covered for insurance unless they are registered members. Codes of Ethics Course: A codes of Ethics course targeted at those involved in sport with young people takes place in the Iontas Castleblaney on 9th March and Farney Workhouse on the 25th March. AGM: AGM will take place on Friday next (13th February) at 8.pm, all parents, team members and mentors are asked to attend, as it is essential for the future success and running of the club to have as much input as possible. Don’t expect someone else to do the work for you, have your say and help make the club better. Even if you cannot take on a committee role, anything that you can help with, no matter how big or small your contribution with will make a difference. This is your club! To celebrate the success of the club, there will be a presentation night on Friday the 6th of February for all players, team mentors and supporters. There will be various presentations including medals and trophies and all of the silverware for the year will be on display. Celebrations will take place in the centre, with the promise of good food and music. Entry will be €10 for under 14's and €20 for those who are older than this. Everyone is most welcome whether a player, mentor or supporter
